How It Works

3. You book and complete 5 qualifying paid nights at any IHG hotel before December 31, 2026. Nights can be split across multiple stays.
4. Once IHG confirms 5 nights, your account is auto-upgraded to Platinum Elite, valid through end of 2027. Points and elite night credits stay in your account.

FAQ

Do the 5 nights have to be consecutive?

No. Any combination of paid stays totaling 5 qualifying nights, at any IHG-brand hotel worldwide, counts toward the Challenge. Award-night stays don't qualify.

What if I don't complete 5 nights by Dec 31, 2026?

Then the Platinum upgrade doesn't trigger. Any nights you did stay still earn regular points and count toward your annual status calculation. The $99 registration fee is non-refundable once we've submitted your Challenge registration to IHG (usually within 24 hours of purchase).

Which IHG brands count?

All paid stays at any IHG-family brand: InterContinental, Regent, Six Senses, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Voco, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, and more.

Can I upgrade to Diamond directly instead?

How is this different from the direct Platinum upgrade?
