❓ FAQ — Common Questions
What is Non-Rev travel?
Non-Rev means “Non-Revenue.” These are seats used by airline employees, retirees, and approved companions. Non-Rev travelers fly on standby — they only receive a seat if one is available after all paying customers and higher-priority employees are accommodated.
What does “standby” mean?
Standby means your seat is not confirmed. You show up for the flight and are assigned a seat only if space remains. On most airlines, employees and their families clear first, companions clear after. Business Class is never guaranteed unless using a PSL voucher.
✨ However — there are no long waits at the airport if you plan ahead.
You can check the flight loads in advance and choose flights with high open-seat chances, making the experience smooth and predictable.
What is ZED?
ZED stands for Zonal Employee Discount. It is the global system that allows airline employees and companions to fly on other airlines at reduced standby fares. ZED fares are distance-based and are generally much lower than any commercial ticket. These bookings are made through myIDTravel.com.
How do I book a Non-Rev flight?
Home Airline: Book and list through the internal employee travel system.
Partner / ZED Airlines: Use myIDTravel.com to view fares, list on standby, and monitor load expectations.
Can I use PSL vouchers on partner airlines?
No. PSL applies only to your home airline. Partner flights use ID90 standby rules.
